I can't seem to figure out how to play Beats1 Radio from my Mac running iTunes 12.2 via AirPlay to my AppleTV. Any ideas?
There should be an AirPlay icon to the right of the volume slider in iTunes; click it and select your device.
No, as soon as I switch to play something from my music library, the AirPlay icon appears. (There's some weirdness with UpNext though: When Beats1 is playing, it says that iTunes Radio is playing; the UpNext from My Music is still there, but not visible until a new song is played.)
Seems like AirPlay is disabled for all Radio stations, not just Beats1. Given that the workaround is pretty straightforward--stream via the Mac's system setting--I suspect this will be fixed shortly.
The workaround I have used is to use Airfoil with Airfoil Speakers, sending the Beat1 sound into Airfoil Speakers App and then resending the sound to the input of the Airfoil App from where I may redirect to all my Airplay devices using Airfoil. Works on Mac or Windows using Airfoil for Mac or Airfoil for Windows. Same for Airfoil Speakers App.
I just checked this as I have been listening to Beats 1 via my Apple TV. I connect via a Keyboard Maestro key combination to switch the system audio output setting to the Apple TV. The icon in iTunes does disappear, but Airplay works OK. Des
