Your latest column reminded me of a perennial problem with this issue.
I listen to Talk Radio or News everyday with my iPhone. When a commercial
comes on, the volume goes up considerably, without my input, all by itself.
I've asked Apple tech support and nobody seems to know why or how to stop it
from occurring. Do you know, does anybody?

That's just because RADIO ALWAYS PLAYS ADS REALLY LOUD SO YOU CAN'T MISS THEM. And Apple is just copying that. They normalize the volume of music, but not ads.
